NFL Defenses Are Broken
NFL defenses spent years solving one problem and accidentally created another.
Teams got smaller and faster to survive against the passing game.
Now offenses are starting to punish that size on the ground.
More tight ends. Extra offensive linemen. Multiple running backs. Heavier formations.
You could already see the shift in 2025, and some of the teams playing deepest into January were built to lean on deep backfields.
The NFL is not abandoning the pass.
But in 2026, expect offenses to attack defenses that got too small trying to stop it.
